Situated at an altitude of 620 metres, the Château du Hohlandsbourg offers a unique 360° view over the Black Forest, the Alsace plain and the Vosges mountains. Built on the initiative of the Habsburgs (13th-17th centuries), it remained an example of military architecture in Alsace until the Thirty Years’ War, when it fell into ruin.
